Life...

So I have not been this busy in a very long time. Don't get me wrong I LOVE COLLEGE, however, between 18 hours of class, a part time job, being in a sorority, going to campus crusades, working out every day and having some social life, I AM BUSY to the MAX. So I am sorry for taking so long to write another post.

My verse of the week is actually a verse my mom claimed for me this week. Psalm 51:6;10;17
"Surely you desire truth in the inner parts, teach me wisdom in the inmost place...Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Restore to me the JOY of my slavation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me...the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart, oh God you will not despise."

This verse really convicted me because I realized I have become a person that is not the same in every situation. I am not doing bad things but I have not been that radiant, bright, humble, and loving life that Christ calls us all to be. What the Lord is teaching me this week is that my life's purpose is to serve Him and to love others in the same way He loves me with unconditional love. Hope that is encouragement to you.

Updates: I am LOVING my job on campus. I am having so much time to get school work done as well as having the opportunity to meet some very cool business men and women checking in and out of here.

I am still working out everyday and starting to feel more energetic and healthy.

I will be coming home either this weekend or the next with my great friend Molly, so maybe some of you can meet her.

Sorority stuff is going great, it is wonderful to be back with my sisters everyday and spend time with them. I am actually going to be serving as one of the chaplains for this semester and will being doing a small devotional and prayer and the beginning of chapter every now and then. Another great opportunity to make Phi Mu my mission field and place to shine Christ.

Thank you again for all your prayers, love, thoughts, and support.

Talk to you soon!

SNOW DAY!

Hello All! Much has happened since the last time I Have written!

1. I got the job I interviewed for on tuesday! :) I will be working at an on-campus hotel as the receptionist. This particular hotel or guest house if you will is located directly under the stadium and is known for housing the VIP's of the university as well as guests and friends of our university President. I am extremely excited about this opportunity, so thank you for your prayers and support! :)

2. Class was CANCELLED today because of the strong chance of snow and sleet. Dont you just love the south? Things shut down because of the possibility of one inch of snow. I am truly proud to be a southern belle.

3. Verse of the Week!! Is....

Psalm 37:23-24
"If the Lord delights in a man's way, He makes his steps firm. Though he may stumble, he will not fall. For the Lord upholds him with His hand."

Love this verse of encouragement...and look forward to taking it apart in the days ahead.

Also update on my New Years Resolutions...
I have worked out everyday this week.
Have had LIMITED amounts of soft drinks.
and Got a JOB! :)

Hope you are all doing well...GOD BLESS!

Home away from Home...

So I am now officially back at school in the wonderful state of Mississippi after much unloading, unpacking and catching up with my incredible friends. :) It is so wonderful to be back and yet weird also after being gone for almost a month. For all of you South GA readers it is a chilly 28 degrees today with a low of 10 degrees...chances of flurries are rumored. :) be jealous. actually I am freezing my little tail off here it is so cold.

So on my way back to Starkville, during those 6 lovely hours alone in my car, I began to think about the meaning of a new song i was listening to by John Mayer (whom I will be seeing in concert February 9th in Birmingham) The name of the Song is Friends, Lovers, or Nothing. The chorus goes as follows...

Friends, Lovers, or Nothing. There can only be one. Friends, Lovers, or Nothing, there'll never be an in between so give it up.

Wow. How true is this? If we really evaluate every relationship in our lives each one should fall into one of these 3 categories. Either you are friends, or "lovers" or have no relationship at all. Often times i think as young adults we justify the relationships in our lives that in reality should fall into the "Lovers" category and say...Oh we are just friends. BEEN THERE, DONE THAT.

However, I think this is one of the main reason we are told in scripture to guard our hearts for it is the wellspring of life. By allowing ourselves to become emotionally attached to a "friend" opens up the gates for heart ache and confusion. Our God is not a God of confusion but clarity and peace of mind. So we must guard our hearts and emotions and truly evaluate each relationship in our lives and make sure that it is adequately defined and that we are not justifying things in our own minds.

Just some food for thought. :)

How to be praying for me personally, I am headed in about 30 minutes to interview for an on campus job so hope that goes well! AND I start a fresh new semester of classes TOMORROW!

Will keep you all updated! GOD BLESS!

Stand Firm

So i am sitting on my bed...bags packed. room empty. and mixed emotions. I am soo ready to go back to school to see my friends and have my free world back...but i will miss being at home. My car is LOADED down, and somehow i am bring back way more that i brought home. How does that happen??

No idea. But anyways, i am starting class wednesday, taking 18 hours this semester! (ill let you know how that works out) but on the bright side I dont have class on fridays!! :) YAY!

Like i said in my previous post i want to memorize 50 Bibles verses before 2011...so i figured it would be nice accountability and encouragement to share my weekly verses with you guys! My verse for this week is...

1 Corinthians 15:58
"Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, STAND FIRM. Let NOTHING move you. Always give yourself fully to the works of the Lord because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."

This verse is so powerful and encouraging to me. It is a great verse to start out for the year...We are to fully commit ourselves to the Lord and His will and what we do in His name will not be done in vain. Hope you find that as uplifting as I do. And I plan on updating you each week with my verse of the week! Maybe you will be encouraged to memorize as well.

Oh and check out my little sister's blog, Taylor Faith Reynolds. its taylorfaithreynolds@blogspot.com

Have an AWESOME first week of 2010!

Happy 2010

Happy NEW YEAR!

well I am sure many of you spent your New Year's Eve enjoying yourselves with friends and family. I however, babysat 3 little girls all night. Which don't get me wrong, I made money which I LOVE...but was alone for New Year's...BUMMER.

So while babysitting this evening i had plenty of time to think about my New Year's Resolutions...and while yes 90% of people fail in achieving these goals I am setting them none the less. So Here it goes...

1. Memorize 50 Bible Verses. (This is roughly one a week, hefty task but a great goal...hold me accountable you blog reading friends)
2. Blog 3 times a week for the whole year
3. Read through the entire Bible
4. Get a Job
5. Work out 3-5 times weekly
6. Make A's this Semester
7. Only allow myself 3 soft drinks a week

This is all i have so far...and also my Mother, Kendyl White, has instilled this yearly thing where we each find a Bible Verse we claim for our New Year...mine is Colossians 1:10-14

"...that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way; bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened by all power according to His glorious might so that you may have great endurance, patience and joyfulness in giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the kingdom of light. For He rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, forgiveness of sins."

May we all live a life worthy of the Lord this Year!

HAPPY 2010 Fellow Blog Addicts. :) May God Bless You!

Change

Hello Blogging World!

I am now joining the milieu of blogging along with half of the world. I am very new to this, however I am excited about journaling for a year. It is my plan to write at least 3 times a week for one whole year. Hopefully I will enjoy this so much I will continue to blog but we will see.

To start I want to tell you more about myself. I am enjoying my last year of teenage excitement as I will be 20 years old in September 2010. I was born in Jackson, Tennessee yet born and raised in the good ole southern state of Georgia. I am currently a freshman at Mississippi State University.

I am happier than ever before as a student in college. I am a member of Phi Mu Sorority @ MSU...and have met my life long friends after only on short semester away from home. I will be studying to earn my degree in International Business.

My lovely mother, Kendyl White, met my wonderful step-dad on E-Harmony (No LIE) in 2008, they were married February of 2009 and are completely blissfully happy. I am now on of 5 children. I have 2 step brothers, Zach, 19, and Max, 17 and I have a little sister Taylor 15, and little brother Reed, 12. My Family means the world to me and they are so special.

That is all the nitty gritty about me. Hope you have enjoyed my INTRO... Be back soon!
